Welcome to Episode 8 of the Handsome Genius Club Radio Show: 2 hours of your life that you were going to throw away anyways. Your personal Sherpa of pop culture silliness, Anthony Kingdom James, leads you to the towering peak of podcast nirvana with another fun-filled episode. Joining Kingdom on this episode are stand-up comedian GAVIN STEPHENS and friend of the show NOAH PANICO.
Gavin has wrapped up his fifth and final season of the CTV/Spike sketch comedy show Comedy Inc. and has just debuted his new one-man stage show "Gavin Stephens' Spectacular Spectacular". Gavin discusses his comedy career, his recent incredible weight loss, and his love of cartoons and vintage running shoes.
Noah joins the show to tell a few stories from his world travels working for Tickets.com, his collection of almost 1000 pairs of sneakers and his lifelong association with pro wrestling including the very true story about a pro wrestler who threatened his life in retaliation for a telephone prank.
Plus, there's Nerd News, TJ and his dog Yoshi and a whole lot more....

Gavin Stephens' website includes videos, tour dates and a ton of fun info about the comedian himself.

Definitely one of your better shows but what the fuck was that second song? Never thought I'd hear country while listening to tha HGC. Was scary. Anyways, much respect to ya, man, funny shit.
As you get to know me better, hearing old country tunes from me won't be so surprising. Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash are two of my top ten favorite artists of all time. I also love Hank Williams Sr, Hoyt Axton, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard...
I love OLD country. Songs that tell stories. Much in the same way I like mostly older hip hop like Public Enemy. I like lyrics. Most music today isn't art, it's product.
I ain't mad at ya, AK, I was just a bit... surprised. Especially since most of the music you play is TJ's band, or people from that area... I think. I agree with your comment about today's pop music. It's annoying no lyrics. Just tits and ass music. Not that that is horrible, mind you, it's just I'd rather hear good music and see the tits and ass, than to hear about it in a song.
Anthony Kingdom James, Dude, show is spectacular as it always is. Each week I'm amazed by how awesome the show is, such interesting shit that keeps me laughing all night at work.
Just wondering, I put the shows on my ipod from the direct download, does that go toward your listener count? I hope so, but if not you can add another listener each and every week.
That said, I hear you're looking for bloggers. I'd be interested in writing one, but unless it's about Professional Wrestling (Indy style, I work) or Burn Notice once it comes back this Winter, I don't know what else I'd blog about.
Later, keep up the good work.
dude your shows really genuine and humble...its like having a conversation with someone...dont loose that appraoch...i respect the versatility...the jokes, honesty, being sincere with the listeners with your personal life etc....great job man...this podcast def helps me pass my time...thnaks...we need *cough* 2 shows a week *cough*
1nes not enough!
Jordan and Brian,
Thank you both for the kind words.
Jordan, if you'd like to write a review/re-cap of the first season of Burn Notice, we can publish it when the new season starts up.
Brian, the goal is FIVE shows a week. I was saying in earlier shows, the big goal is to build the show up so we can totally sell out to xm/sirius or some other broadcaster so that this becomes a daily gig.
great show kingdom
