Welcome listeners new and old to Episode 17 of the Handsome Genius Club Radio Show, the interweb's latest and greatest source of self-indulgent shit talk and pop culture nitpickery! Your hero and host, ANTHONY KINGDOM JAMES, is basking in the glow of his first appearance on Space Television here in Canada and today's show features an entertaining assortment of his usual HGC suspects. First, BIG RON LARMONDIN stops by to talk about the NFL playoffs, Mats Sundin's return to the NHL and to campaign against Kingdom's current sobriety. Then, resident movie critic NOAH PANICO gives us his review of Keanu Reeves' sci-fi remake The Day The Earth Stood Still. If you've never heard one of Noah's reviews before, prepare for a hilarious verbal train wreck! And our Chief Doctor Who correspondent PHIL STAMPER drops in to discuss BBC's announcement of the next Doctor.
We've got updates on the "MAV LOVES RIHANNA" campaign, Noah's HGC XBOX CHALLENGE and tonight's Oblivion event here in Toronto. Plus we've got the NERD NEWS on Mickey Rourke's new career moves, Warner Bros shelving Shazam, Twilight's breakout star Taylor Lautner, the corporate feud over the Watchmen film and is the American government about to bail-out the porn industry? Doctor Who- I really wanted to see David Tennent stick around for at least a few more seasons. I thought he played the Doctor extremely well. The real problem I have is that it seems at this rate the doctor will exhaust his regenerations within 3-5 yrs at this rate and that will be the end of the series (though there are always ways around that, but anyways...)
Matt Smith more reminds me of the one Doctor on House then anything. I want to be hopeful that this will be a good move, but considering that new Doctor Who episodes won't show in the USA for quite a while, it'll be a good long time before I get to make a valid opinion.
